One trick I've used is, I use a drill shank that has the flutes cut off, that's a

snug fit in the TP. hole. I put one end in the TP. hole, and chuck the other end in the drill chuck, now I know the hole is alined, I position the vise jaws To grab the part exactly as it's being held, by the chuck. hth.
