at the boiler works up the road. They put up a sign, 'retail', whatever that means to a boiler works. But I needed some alum. tubing, so I stop in since its near where I work. The girl behind the counter sends me to Josh, who is sitting on a forklift doing nothing in the warehouse, which is some 20K square feet with metal stock of all sizes and materials. It turns out that Josh is a paintballer, and loves guns of all stripes. So I explain I have an airgun project and need some tubing. Then I mention Co2, and he gets kinda glassy eyed to find someone else who has heard of Co2 other than as related to global warming, and goes and finds me a few short pieces that are just the ticket. Then he takes me up front and tells the girl that there were no cuts and its not worth charging anything. So, she says just go ahead and take them. So I do. Love it when that happens.

My project, btw, is just to make some simple o-ring tubes, the tapered ones, like to use on the old Benji co2 guns. A simple tool which makes it easier to slip the o-rings onto and off of. I remember a long time back I was complaining about trying to get an o-ring over some threads on a BSA S-10, and Tim at Mac-1 suggested getting brass shim stock and kinda coiling/spiraling it up and slipping the o-ring on and off that way. Doh!!!! This is the same concept. But, I'm getting tool-happy and making a lot of specialty tools nowadays and so wanted something a little more formal.

I might be a different Jon B. than you're thinking of, theres apparently lots of us out there. I'm in Norcal, near Eureka.

I'll let you know if I run across a good, cheap source for some of that tubing.
