Fellas, this is for sale locally. The add says "Very good condition, very little use(little old lady on Sundays after church)", it comes with the stand too.

Does the tool rest look like the O.E.M? Are those dial gauges underneath? Can your experienced eyes spot any extras?

If it is as described with everthing pictured should I offer him $300, he's asking $400.

Looks like it has a phase II toolpost on it altho it looks a little large on there... I would say that 300 would be a good buy.... good luck man!!

I've blown more money on worse

The stand seems kinda funky to me, to extend the headstock end without support may end up causing problems. I'd probly build another or put it on a sturdy table or bench of more proper size. Maybe you could offer the $300, and if he balks, let him keep the stand if he'll sell the machine without it. Either way, I'm with Pete, $300 seems like a pretty good deal.

Yup.

That's a good deal. The toolpost is not OEM but you'll love quick-change post way more than the oem. Looks like some nice accessories to get you started.

I agree the stand will have to be stiffened up so you can bolt it down and level/straighten the ways. You can't just set a lathe down and expect to cut straight cylinders.

If you can see it in action all the better. check the spindle (chuck end) for play and ask to make a cut. bring you own mics and see if it's any count.

Hope you tell us how you do.

MM
