My father-in-law, Alton Harker, was a Navy medic (PhM 2/C) with the Marines on Iwo Jima. He died in 1971 when my husband was a child. We are trying to locate anyone who might have known him. We know very little about him except I have the following information: 5th Marine Div, Camp Pendleton, 4th Marine Div (24th Marines) 4th Medical Bn, 4th Marine Div, USNH Bremerton, Washington.

A friend of mine was also a Navy Corpsman attached to the Marines. He served on Iwo Jima. I have no idea if he knew your father-in-law, but if you e-mail me I'll help you get in touch with him.
