although if you need information fast it would probably be better to email me. We're about to enter our busiest term of the year since down here our school year runs from February to December. So not only do we have Christmas and end-of-year celebrations we also have final exams and prizegivings and farewells. Crazy! I have 2 sons sitting important exams at school and I know from past experience that I need to 'be there' for them more than usual. Since they're both conscientious students getting them to study won't be a problem, but it's just things like making sure they have enough time, taking over some of their chores for a few days/weeks if they're stressed, acting as a barrier between them and their friends (who sometimes see 'study leave' as a time to have fun), and basically just supporting them.
As to stained-glass quilts, don't limit your search for patterns to just quilts. There are some excellent patterns for windows that can easily be adapated. Stained-glass windows as a craft is enjoying a revival and there are some good books out there. Just be sure to choose a simple pattern without too much detail and that doesn't have too many small pieces.
As to the quilt care, I'll get onto that as soon as I can. I was reminded of this only last week when I washed son and DIL's quilt. When I gave it to them I said that it came with an "unlimited repair and cleaning warranty" and since it had become soiled (baby soil! yucky!) and DIL was nervous about washing it, I was quite happy to bring it home and clean it for them.

'Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfailing beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.' 1 Peter 3:3-4
