Downswest Winter 2008 e-Newsletter

Small Yins: The Parent and Toddler group will host a Christmas Party for the under 4s at Albertslund Hall, Newton Mearns on December 7th at 3pm - contact Joanne McAlpine Ken.mcalpine (at) Virgin.net for information and tickets and remember to bring a present for Santa to give your child.

Middle Yins 4-14 years old Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Classic Childrens Concerts Sleigh ride spectacular on 13th Dec 2008, 3pm: apply for places to: janie-steel (@) hotmail.co.uk Dont forget to bring jingly bells and tinsel.

Teens will have a disco in January date and venue to be arranged.

Big Yins (18+) will have a Ceilidh dinner-dance in late January at a venue and date to be announced.

Adventure Sports Activities 2009:

The last ski lesson of the year will be on Dec 2nd followed by an apres-ski pizza party. The Adventure Sports club will announce their 2009 programme in the new year: this will be sure to include a weekend ski-ing, skating, tobogganing in the Highlands, later in the year we may try white water rafting, hill-walking, climbing, and maybe other fun activities like fishing, pony trekking and camping. Competition: Design a Christmas Card: Prizes for winning entries will be awarded to Under 5: Under 11: Under 16: Under 21 categories

The winning designs will be printed and sold for Xmas 2009. Funds raised will be divided equally between the Parent &Toddler Group, The National Swimming Group, The Adventure Club and the Sports Club within West of Scotland Branch.

Entries which should be submitted no later than January 30th 2009 to S McDonald: 3 Lampson Lane, Kilearn, G63 9PF will be judged at February Branch Committee meeting.

Got a fund raising idea? Let us know - the more we raise the more we can do.
