- Although various reports indicate WWE management was not too pleased with the Austin/domestic-abuse issue, the WWE lockerroom generally disagrees with that sentiment.
One worker was quoted, "It's a lame-ass situation he was unjustly dragged into." The general belief amongst Austin's friends and coworkers is that Austin had broken up with Tess two weeks before the incident, and it was only just as the message was clicking in did the complaint come about.
On the Austin/contract front, no news has developed. Austin and WWE remain at a standstill.
- Johnny Nitro has been coming out to the old WCW Nitro theme at house shows. WWE has definitely been showing more signs of WCW in the last several months.
- Despite numerous emails to WWE from fans and petitions left and right, the Eugene character is not expected to end anytime soon. Management was very happy with the Eugene character at this weekends house shows as it was over with the crowd. Looks as if Eugene likes the Diva's.
- A match between WWE developmental talent Carly Colon and TNA's Abyss in Puerto Rico over the weekend was cancelled because WWE did not allow Colon to participate in the bout. The card had to be changed, with each guy being involved in different matches.
- In case you haven’t noticed due to the lack of an explanation, Lance Storm is now a heel on RAW while Matt Hardy is a face. Along with Shelton Benjamin, Chuck Palumbo and Rhyno have also turned face after their roster move. Nidia will also still remain a face.
- Chris Benoit is currently the favorite to retain the World Heavyweight title at Backlash in his match with Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Apart from the event being in Benoit’s hometown, Triple H is scheduled to begin filming his new movie in late April so he will miss some time and thus, probably won’t be champion during this time. However, it is expected that he will eventually win back the title sometime in the summer, possibly at Summerslam.
