Funk treated well, Orton's bacstage presence, Angle worried, Summerslam and more

- Terry Funk was treated like a living legend at the RAW house show over the weekend. Everyone was thrilled to have him work the show and the members of Evolution were apparently fighting over who got to put him over in the ring during the main event. Funk was said to have had a great time working the show.
- Randy Orton, while not personally loved by everyone, seems to be gaining respect backstage for being his own man. He does not suck up to management or Triple H as many do and is considered very tough for his age. At this point, his only knock seems to be his injury prone past.
- WWE has no plans to move any RAW stars over to Smackdown in hopes of balancing the two brands. Most believe that WWE is heavily favoring RAW when it comes to their star power. Smackdown ratings have gone down drastically since the draft lottery.
- Kurt Angle has been concerned about having neck surgery again for weeks, and considered many things before going back to Dr. Jho's surgery. Most feel Angle should just have the traditional fusion surgery done since Angle's bump intensive style seemed to quickly undo Jho's surgery quickly. Angle does not want to have fusion surgery done until his career is over.
- WWE and Rob Van Dam are very close to coming to terms on a new contract. His current deal ends in June but at this point, the new deal seems to be a formality.
- WWE has confirmed that Summerslam will be held on August 15th at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
