- Last week on RAW, WWE confirmed a "Seattle Slugfest" boxing match between the two finalists in the Diva Search, after one of the three remaining girls is cut on tonight's broadcast.
However, WWE may not have counted on the fact that there are rules and regulation for boxing in the US. Washington's Department Of Licensing, which handles boxing and pro wrestling in the state, found out about the match and contacted WWE. At the time, WWE sources told the department that tonight's match would be a pillow fight and not a boxing match.
Of course, it is not known whether WWE has actually changed plans for RAW and will run a pillow fight, or if they were lying to get the state off their backs. If they do run a boxing match tonight, they do face the potential for charges from Washington state, although most don't feel it will go very far.
- The word we are getting is that there were no serious injuries coming out of the Unforgiven PPV with the exception of Chris Jericho being a little bit banged up. He's probably hurting today after that ladder shot to his backside.
The backstage feeling was that the reason the crowd was so dead during the show was obviously due to the disastrous Steven Richards/Tyson Tomko match. The match made no sense at all and was just a total flop from all sides.
- TNA continues to be in talks with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall about working for TNA. No deal has been signed but a verbal agreement has been reached. It is expected that the former Outsiders will debut in TNA as the hype for their debut three hour PPV, Victory Road, heats up.
- Many were talking backstage over the weekend about how bad the house shows in Canada drew. The show in Edmonton drew only about 1500 fans for a gate of $70,000 while the show in Calgary drew less than 1200 for a gate of below $50,000. Canada used to be an extremely strong market for WWE. | |
