Mick Foley Speaks On Arab Angle, Best Wrestler Of All-Time, & More

Mick Foley has been co-host on Air America Radio's 'Morning Sedition' with Marc Maron over the past couple days, so I listened on the internet as I live over here in the UK.

It's obviously not a wrestling show, so nothing much to report concerning the two shows Mick was on but I should point out Mick is probably the best possible wrestler they could have do this as he does have such a vast knowledge and spoke extremely well when talking with guests on the show and I think he really put wrestling in a good light. Not so sure others would do as well.

Just thought I'd pass along that on today's show they brought up the segment Mick did on Raw a couple weeks back with Muhammed Hassan and Khosrow Daivari. Mick said he'd been offered a few things by WWE, but this was the first that he'd seen that he wanted to do.

He defended it saying he thinks the characters have a few good points to raise and it's been a while since anything in wrestling really made some headlines and this could be the angle to do that. Mick did say he had to defend his involvement in this angle to a lot of people close to him, which doesn't surprise me.

The angle from the first Gulf war was brought up also with Sergeant Slaughter playing an Iraqi sympathizer and Mick said he was totally against that.

The topic of Brent Bozell and the Parent TV Council was also brought up and Mick commented on how he managed to get someone from the PTC on the phone who responded to him by saying 'THE Mick Foley?' all excited and said please hold, then 30 seconds later said we can't speak to anyone from WWE. Mick said propoganda does work and even when WWE won the case and PTC had to write a letter of apology it still felt like damage had really been done and PTC had really gained more then they'd lost or words to that effect.

On another wrestling note, Maron said he was thinking of now getting into wrestling and asked Mick who the best wrestler of all time was. Not surprisngly, Mick said many think Ric Flair but he disagrees. He said he'd go with Terry Funk and Maron said that's where he'd start.
