I just got home from the Raw house show in the new MTS Center in Winnipeg. It was pretty good way to criscen(sp?) the new arena. Here's what went down.

The show starts with Christy coming to the ring to talk about how great Winnipeg is and how she's honored everyone voted for her to be here. I was shouting "I voted for Carmella". (side note: It's true, I did.) Any way. Out comes Simon Dean. He's talking about how fat people are in Winnipeg, or as he said "Winni-PIG" (funny). So, Simon takes some of his pattened Simon power and puts it in a cup and gives it to Christy and tells her to put water or milk in it and drink it and she will see the fat melt off of her. Instead, Christy throws the cup in Simon's eyes. And while he's blinded, Christy gives him a low blow and walks away. (It was alright. In comparrison to what we would see later though, that was pure GOLD.)

Christian and Tyson Tomko defeats Rosey and The Hurricane. The biggest cheers in that match went for Canadian raised, Christian. But the funny things the biggest boos went to Tomko. Long story short, not much to say other then Rosey gets ready to deliver his spinning side slam to Christian when Tomko gives him a boot to the face for the 3 count.

Victoria defeats Molly Holly (Wal Venis is teh guest referee)Not much to say other than Val Venis has gone completely bald now. Not just really short hair with a goatee, I'm talking about the Stone Cold look. Well, The end came when molly tried going for a Molly go Round and Victoria knocked Molly over and caught her with the Widow's Peak.

Shelton Benjamin vs Maven (WWE Intercontinental Championship)This match was good in comparrison to the other two.. I meant three, matches we had to put up with this week. The ending was the same though. T-Bone suplex and another succesful title defense. Not right away though.

Chris Benoit vs EdgeMatch of the night hands down. The biggest pop came when Benoit put Edge in the sharpshooter. And the deal was everyone was cheering both men because they're Canadian. The end came when Edge went for a spear and Benoit tried countering with the Crossface. But Edge managed to counter with a Edge-a-cution. The Benoit managed to counter with a crossface in the middle of the ring. After spending a minute to fight out of the move, Edge gave in. Of course, everyone started a "YOU TAPPED OUT" chant. And Edge b###hed about not being World Champion.

Hardcore MatchKane vs Gene SnitskyI remeber Snitsky having his head covered with a trashcan and having his head dangling from the apron and Kane smashed a kendo stick over top of it. Then it struck me as the perfect time to try and pick up something for a friend who couldn't make it to the show. Her favorite wrestler is Randy Orton and I tried to buy a camera to take pictures for when he came, but they were out. So I bought her a Randy Orton bobble-head. I came back and I was walking down the steps to get back to my seat, and I saw Kane chokeslam Snitsky for the victory.

INTERMISSION (I know you guys are saying I should've waited a few more minutes. But then I'd have to stand in a crowded line. That way, I got what I wanted without problems.)

After that, out came the Coach. He ring annouced the next match which was a tag-team match with La Resistance vs William Regal and a mystery partner. The Coach pointed out that William Regal needed to defend his titles despite the injury of Eugene. And fear not, because Eric and teh Coach found the perfect partner to replace him for this title match. THE COACH.So basically, Regal fought this match hard despite it being a handicapped match. Regal had chanes to tag his partner, but chose not to because he didn't trust the Coach. Whether he should've or not is not the issue. The issue is that going 2 on 1 was a bad idea. And one Au Revoir later and We have NEW WORLD TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONS in a House Show. Coach then beat up Regal for his lack of faith in the Coach.

Royal Rumble QualifierMuhammad Hassan w/Khosrow Daivari vs (as the ring announcer strongly emphasized) THE PRIDE OF MANITOBA, CHRIIIIIIIISSSS JEEERRRRRIICCHHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!I'm not kidding, that's how he was announced to the ring. Of course, this being Winnipeg (Jericho's REAL hometown) he does, always has in the past, and (as long as he's in the WWE) always will get the biggest cheer of the entire show. What's funny was me and my firends saved up our cheering voices for Jericho. Oh sure, we applauded and gave a whoo here and there, but that was about it. So Jericho went bak to his old tricks. After Muhamad flapped his gums again about how Arab-Americans are treated unfailry, Jericho responded by a classic "Would you PLEASE SHUT THE HELL UP?" Then he was talking about how he was going to give a classic Winnipeg Jets beating (at that point, the whole crowd broke i a "Go Jets Go" chant) he then finished by saying he's going to delier a Y2J beating that will (at this point, the fans did the NEVER EEEEEEE-E-E-E-E-E-E-EEEEEEVERRRRR!!!!) be the same AGAIN!!!! Needless to say, you put a great entertaining wrestler against a poor wrestler, and you get an OK match. But they crowd barely cared about the wrestling. What mattered to them was that it was Chris Jericho. Chris got the Lionsault on Muhammad, and his buddy was doing the Ric Flair thing by getting on the ropes and arguing. Jericho took him out but was then rolled up with the handful of tights. But you'd be follish to think Muhamad would win. Jericho kicked out. He pushed Muhamad into his partner and placed him in the Walls of Jericho. A few seconds later, Jericho qualifies for the Royal Rumble.

MAIN EVENTRic Flair and Batista vs HBK and Randy OrtonThis was the most dissapointing match of the whole show. It had the potential to be awesome, but it completly stunk. First off, Shawn Michaels was booed as hell. And Randy Orton got a decent cheer. Ric Flair and Batista were cheered royaly until Flair took the mic and started talking trash. He was puttin down Winnipeg for obvious heel heat. But then many people said he went over board puttin down Bret Hart saying he's nothing more than a Flair wannabe who can't handle being in the ring anymore. (THE GUY HAD A F****** STROKE AND GOLDBERG'S SLOPPY KICK PUT HIM OUT OF ACTION) And what's funny is the fact that Ric Flair never beat Bret Hart. In fact, Bret's first WWE Championship was at the expense of Ric Flair after Flair TAPPED OUT.) But I digress. Batista is a freak of nature when you see him live. He looks strongly built on TV, but in reality, he's a freak. And what was funny was that Orton tried flexing his muscles against Batista. I mean, Orton's in great shape and all, but compared to Batista? That's no contest. Anyways, I'm not kidding. Orton wrestled most of the match on his own against Batista and Flair. The only time Shawn got in was at the end when he going after Flair and the end was a body slam and elbow drop and then preparing for Sweet Chin Music. Batista tried to break it up, but Orton got at Batista and the two brawled. Then HBK got the band tuned and won the match with his "superkick". I say that loosely, because I saw the kick, and Shawn missed Flair's face by a foot. And that's about it. It was pretty good despite the main event.

Huge News: RAW Tag Titles Change At House Show

Jordan Nepon just sent in this report from Winnipeg:

La Resistance beat William Regal and the Coach to become NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS. Coach came out and announced himself the ring announcer. La Res came out followed by Regal, alone. Coach said Regal had to defend the titles, but not in a handicap match, and Coach named himself as Eugene's replacement. Regal wrestled alone regardless, he went for a tag mid-match but changed his mind. For the end, Regal nailed Coach instead of tagging him, then La Res hit their tag finisher (sorry, forget the name) on Regal to win the belts. Post-match, Coach insulted Regal and followed up with a low blow. Regal came back with some knees then tossed Coach out of the ring.

More On RAW House Show: Bret Hart, Title Change, Qualifiers; More

Steven Hansley sent us these notes:

La Resistance are the new tag tam champions.

Attendance was roughly 6500.

Chris Jericho defeated Hassan to qualify for the Royal Rumble. I believe that's Hassan's first loss.

The scheduled Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels singles match turned into a Randy Orton and Michaels vs. Flair and Batista. Everybody was chanting "You screwed Bret" Flair got on the mic and said he's wrestled around the world and Bret Hart will never be Flair, he's a retired wanna be Flair and Michaels is the best he's ever been in the ring with. He told everybody to enjoy the show or we can kiss his ass! He also said they better stop chanting "You Screwed Bret" or "WWE will never come back here"
