Tapings Thoughts: The Impact Zone was not full, but was near capacity. It might have been affected by the rain that started shortly after they started letting people from the two outer lines to the Soundstage…..I thought the last television tapings had the best Impact match that I had seen live, but the X Division number one contender’s match was better….While the shows are done live to tape, the third show went about 35 to 40 minutes, so they will probably run some video packages building the Lockdown pay per view to fill out the hour….If you are only going to watch the first hour for one thing, watch it for the springboard somersault drop kick that Kid Kash hits because it is impressive to see him go almost across the ring on that move…..During the first hour, when Jarrett came to the ring, there were audible ‘Drop the Title’ chants. Some of the crowd also chanted ‘You sold out’ when Monty Brown came out to the ring to join Jarrett….When Dusty made the announcement that both Traci and Trinity were going to be his secretaries even though the stipulation of the tag match at Destination X was that the person whose team won would be his assistant, I want to thank TNA for taking away 11 minutes of my life on that pay per view, and keeping the top heel in the company (Kid Kash) on the pre-show. You are still on my list Dusty…..What is the purpose of a stipulation if it is not enforced?....If Buck Quartermain and Lex Lovett are supposed to be a tag team, why were they split up when Lex was in a tag match?....It still looks like they are doing some ‘dartboard’ booking with another face versus face match (even though it set up the Kid Kash promo)….I find it amazing that it seems like Chris Sabin is in the best match of every television taping, but he is an afterthought for the pay per views…..If Kid Kash is not going to be in a tag match at the pay per view, a match between Kid Kash and Chris Sabin could steal the show…..I wonder how they are going to explain how Michael Shane is now Michael Shane again…..It was interesting that they did not have A.J. Styles, Monty Brown, or Ron Killings wrestle at all during these tapings…..I guess David Young is no longer associated with The Naturals and Chris Candido…..As I was preparing to make the trek from the Tampa area to Orlando, I was thinking about the two steel cage matches and while I had my ideas for what would make the Orlando crowd happy, I wrote down what I thought the main event would be. That match was a six man match featuring Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page, and Sean Waltman versus Monty Brown, Jeff Jarrett and William Pistol. I hate it when I am right like this….Speaking of the lines, there were no significant problems that I noticed since the TNA and Universal people were working together. They are cracking down on the people in the ‘Street Team’ and ‘VIP’ areas so it is not as congested as it has been in the past.
