So what is the problem then?by (no login)Quote: "I mean, I have enough problems with the Windows #1 OS already, but who is gonna try to play around with so many versions of Linux to find a decent one?" You can choose what MS wants to give for you or spend some time to choose what you want. Multiple distros are here because different peoples wants different things. There is distros made for power use. Everything is minimal so as much as possible of CPU can be used for calculating etc. Some peoples wants distro which is planned for programming usage. These distros has practically everything programming software we can imagine. Millions peoples has spend their time and playd around to find best distro for their use. You dont have to. It is up to you what you use and why. Quote: "Assume I want to use Windows programs I already have and use Wine." Why on earth you have linux if you want to use windows programs? Guess how many linux native programs works with windows? Quote: "The rest comes up to what present users of Linux decide would work best." If not users then who instead? Microsoft? Quote: "I don't want to get stuck with nothing working in the end! Plus QB64 works in Windows XP already!" Then use xp. What is the problem? |
