But that just means a smaller, homogenous developer set, who are all tainted with one thing: trying to profit; as opposed to a larger, worldwide, proven developer set who are only trying to make the best software possible.

One often wonders what they're not telling you

It's funny because I often wonder what Microsoft is not telling us about Windows. With linux, if you ever do wonder, you can just look at the code. With Windows, if you ever wonder, you can talk to marketing and they'll tell you that you don't need to know, unless there's an exploit in IE in which case a patch will be issued a year later and you still won't need to know.
