Gentoo now allows you to install a system compiled with x32 abiby Anonymous (no login)
This is a new ABI for amd64 platforms that aims to marry the best of both worlds: smaller pointers from 32bit x86 with more registers and enhanced instructions from 64bit x86_64. All you need to get started is Linux 3.4!
This is significantly faster than x86. I might find this useful on my laptop because I only have 1 GB RAM but a 64bit processor.
