the clerk simply made an error. When orders are being shipped, it is VERY easy to get them mixed up: I have done it too many times, even though I am aware of the fact that I do screw up.
"Golfsmith" likely isn't blameworthy for this: stupids happen even to those of us most careful. I have to reinforce how seriously any business these days, on the internet especially, considers their response time and customer relations. Forums are replete with reports of golfer's getting satisfaction, compensatory gifts, other bend over backwards service etc. from companies who are aware of the effect for good or bad of golfers reporting in forums just like this about their service. It isn't because they're "good guys" running the companies - though most are. It is basically because a bad reputation kills buyer confidence and affects sales.
