As I do about this time every month I want to thank everyone who came out on the 12th and made the July show another great one. I have got some excellent feedback on our Judge Shannon Hines everyone seems to be very pleased with his judging and I thank him for coming out and hope he returns. Thanks to all of the Volunteers who make the show go I couldn't do it without you! This club has continues to grow at an unbelievable pace. Every month we have more and more new faces. We have a lot of dogs getting close to making their Championships and the competition keeps getting tougher and tougher. So again, thanks to all of you who have helped this club grow to be the best I have ever seen.
For those of you who are interested the VSBA Softball team will be playing 2 games every Friday throughout he fall in Smyrna, TN. This is a sanctioned league and we have a very talented team. We hope to spread the word about the VSBA and our breed through the exposure we get as we play. If anyone is interested in sponsoring the team through a donation your kennel name and/or business name will be proudly displayed on our dugout.
All of the registered voters in the state on TN. Please remember that Janis Sontany and Tommy Kilby (The authors of the proposed statewide Pit Bull ban) are up for re-election in August. These 2 should not be able to think that what they attempted to do to our breed will be forgotten. It is up to us to vote out idiots like these when we have the chance. So help us do this by spreading the word to all of your friends and family encouraging them to get out and vote.
As most of you know I challenged all of you to bring as many dogs as possible to the June and July show if both shows exceeded 100 dogs then I would allow all of our members to smash a pie in my face. Well the final count is in…Our June show easily surpassed 100 dogs. Our July show fell just shy of the 100 dog mark. So for all of you who were looking forward to the reward hehehe better luck next time. I’ll start working on another challenge for you guys soon.
With all of that said, our next show is August 2nd. We have decided starting at this show we will give a 25% discount to everyone with a Military ID. We have had Military Appreciation shows a few times a year since we started and now every show will be in appreciation of the brave men and women who keep us safe.
Also, keep in mind that September 6th is our 2 year birthday celebration and “Member Appreciation Show” This is where I try to show how much I appreciate all of you for giving the club another wonderful year. So mark your calendars and get your dogs ready we’re expecting the 2nd half of this year to be just as good as the 1st.
