The first part of the chapter is pretty strait forward and warns everyone NOT to offend one of the little children that believes in him. Jesus describes what a horrible offense it is to offend a child. The last verse in the first part says "10) Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven." I like this verse because it shows that children do have angels that watch over them, as all of us i believe. it says "their" angels which would refer to a possessive form as if they had them with them always.
Then is the parable of the lost sheep. Jesus parallels the coming to save the sheep with him coming to save the people. He does not wish that any of the sheep should wonder off and perish but he wants to save them. Also in this parable it says that when he finds the lost sheep he will rejoice more over it than any of the others that went not astray. This is a prime reason we should be trying to show everyone who God is. For one reason to save the soul, and for another to make God exceedingly happy.
Then he goes on to talk about what to do if someone offends you. By the way of Jesus, you should talk to the person himself about it and if he won't hear about it then take it to the church and try to resolve the issue, and if he still will not listen then is when you take him to the courts, which jesus calls Heathen [men]. One of these verses in particular that i liked is "18) Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." I'm not really sure what it means but I like it. Then verse 19) "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." If two or more are gathered together in his name then he is in their midst. This is one reason why we gather together in Church. Because God is there, it shouldn't be to socialize or have a party but to just sit in the presents of God.
then Jesus speeks of forgiveness. Peter asks Jesus how many times he should forgive an offender and he tells Peter that he should forgive them "Until seventy times seven." And i believe this is one problem with the world. People don't forgive and let go, they hold on and let things eat at them till they kill someone. Just forgive them and go on with your life.
