Significant pain at this point is not normal and is of concern. First and foremost however, a comprehensive evaluation, including an examination by a knowledgable physician/surgeon is needeed to exclude any other cause(unrelated to hernia and prior surgery) for your pain. Only if this pain is then felt to be hernia/surgery related should treatment proceed. While this may be suggestive of a more chronic problem of
Post-Herniorrhaphy Pain Syndrome, consultation and conservative management by a qualified Pain Management specialist and/or supervised Physical Therapy should in my opinion, be fisrt attempted.
