Day 11; After open incisional left inguinal surgery using tension-free mesh (stitched in); I still have left testicle pain and aching as well as numbness just below the incision. What would cause this? Is this normal and if so, when would this begin to subside? Thanks for your comments and input!!
Having the same kind of surgery on the right side I can say it doesn't go away terribly quickly. Of course if it's crippling I suggest you go see your surgeon, but I had mine done in April 4 and I still have soreness. Of course I'm going to see my doctor on Thursday because of pain that's become apparent on my left side, so I may be a "special case." Good luck, you're early on so ice and ibuprofen are still in order.
Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing; ibuprofen
and ice. I had my right side done 12 years earlier and I didn't have the testicle aches or the numbness. I am seeing the surgeon's PA
this Thursday for my post op check. Thanks for your input Mike!
I recently had open surgery on a femoral hernia and am experience the same symptoms as you. Since it has been a while since your surgery can you give more details on what has happened? Most specifically, was the pain that developed on your left side related to the surgery on your right or something different altogether?
