I had surgery to repair my umbilical hernia when i was 12, but my belly button sticks very far out still. I've been told my hernia is gone, but was wondering if the outtie is still normal or if I should see a surgeon to make sure everything is kosher. Thoughts?

Whereas without an examination, I cannot make a diagnosis, an "outie" is generally a sign of an underlying Umbilical Hernia. An examination by a surgeon is certainly in order to evaluate the situation for you.
