HerniaMD you said you felt my son would be better off with a mesh repair than a tissue repair. I asked, and maybe you didn't see the followup question, which type of single layer mesh patch would you recommend, since my son has decided he doesn't want any type of system. I'm concerned about shrinkage and wrinkling. Unfortunately, this isn't my decision to make but I am trying to get him the best information available. I know which way I'd take him if his medical care were still in my hands but that's just not how it is. I've been told you have discussed various mesh types but when I did a search I couldn't find anything pertaining to that so I apologize if this is redundant. Either my brain or computer are fried...probably both.
Dr. Goodyear I know you prefer the systems but if you had to choose a single layer, which would it be?
Maybe I haven't looked around enough to see the answer to this and if that's the case I apologize. Do you see patients? How would one go about arranging a consult with you?
This is Dr. Goodyear's board. I would prefer not to promote my personal surgical hernia practice here. If you can't see Dr. goodyear, check with the American Hernia Society website. You can get a list of members from every state.
