I am recovering from my fourth hernia surgery. I am heavy, and in the process of having gastric bypass. Gastric bypass is an eight month project, teaching us how to eat and the correct process of the whole ordeal.
However, I know of many people who have or has had, hernias. I just feel that there is more to a hernia than what lets on. The surgeons repair them, but it doesn't heal the hernia. I would like to know if anyone has any ideas of what causes hernias in small and large people. I can understand the obesity, but what about the normal average person? Why do some obese people get them, and others do not?
I do have another one, the surgeon is hoping it will stay small until my surgery. But what happens when and if I do loose all of this weight, that I still get them? There has to be a limit as to how many surgeries a person can have. I have had two c-sections previous to the three hernai surgeries, and this past time he made a different incision, as the skin on my stomach is weak.
Any input would be nice. Thank you!
