Can anyone tell me the practicality or complications that arise from
removal of mesh from the groin area? Thanks

I have gone in for the surgery twice, once was only a partial mesh removal, the other was full mesh removal. Mesh removal is not always possible, and can usually not be determined until the doctor has opened you up. The type of mesh used, if it was tension-free, stitched in, and how it has incorporated itself into tissue will all effect mesh removal.
Possible complications could be further nerve and tissue damage, damage to the vas deferens, and although I have not heard of it happening to anyone yet, the loss of the testicle on the side of surgery is possible if the blood vessels are damaged. Of course you can expect the normal post-op pain to go with it.

Also, if you feel your pain is bad enough to warrant having the mesh removal, it would be best to seek out an experienced hernia repair surgeon, they would offer the least chance of having any complications.
