Thank you.

Yep, I, too, had sports hernia surgery and I am having complications as well. What is even more eerie is that I had surgery the same day as you - 2/25/09. And if we find out that it was by the same surgeon, I am going to freak out. Email me if you would like to compare notes - rahenry42@yahoo.com

sports hernia post-op pain

Had it done in Philly by Dr. Meyers, who is more experienced than anyone in this area. However, I have had continued pain in the incisional area over 6 months and am at a loss, have been back to Philly twice and had another MRI which showed the surgical repair was intact. Am seeing a local pain clinic trying for nerve ablation approach without surgery. My pain is from the surgery and not the preop type of pain I had.

1. Did you have a mesh put in?
2. Was it a lightweight mesh?
3. Do you or did you have a bulge?
4. What event triggered this "sports" hernia?

I think sports hernias should be repaired with mesh. I am not sure what premise Dr. Meyers made your diagnosis.

Time and time again, Dr. Goodyear has basically stated there is no real place for non mesh repairs in the era of modern meshes. I believe this is true.
