had elective "sports" hernia repair bilaterally 2/25/09 with continued post-op incisional pain. Any one have a similar surgery? If so, any problems?
Thank you.
Yep, I, too, had sports hernia surgery and I am having complications as well. What is even more eerie is that I had surgery the same day as you - 2/25/09. And if we find out that it was by the same surgeon, I am going to freak out. Email me if you would like to compare notes - rahenry42@yahoo.com
Had it done in Philly by Dr. Meyers, who is more experienced than anyone in this area. However, I have had continued pain in the incisional area over 6 months and am at a loss, have been back to Philly twice and had another MRI which showed the surgical repair was intact. Am seeing a local pain clinic trying for nerve ablation approach without surgery. My pain is from the surgery and not the preop type of pain I had.
Time and time again, Dr. Goodyear has basically stated there is no real place for non mesh repairs in the era of modern meshes. I believe this is true.
