hello all. Wondering what everyone's recovery time has been from mesh removal and triple neurectomy. I have been around 3 months now and at times feel great and other times after being more active have pain in surgical area as well as scotum...thanks
for me its been almost over 1 1/2 years now since i had the mesh removed and a triple neuectomy and still have pain just about every day , being more active can bring on pain that makes me fell almost sick.
I had my mesh removed in April, and I still have abdomen pain in my left adbomen. I had 2 lapocopy surgeries then this mesh removal, and I am still in pain. Have you ever thought of the nerve stimulous machine? I look forward to hearing from you.

When it comes to mesh removal and the triple neurectomy you are still early post-op. Usually involved in the complications that lead to needing this surgery is lots of nerve damage, not limited to the nerves that get cut. Nerves can take up to 2 years to recover. I am a little over a year post-op for bi-lateral mesh removal and neurectomy. I have had a lot of improvement over the last 9 months. If you haven't, get active, it may hurt but it will help in the long wrong. Swimming and ellipticals are good exercise that cause very little discomfort.

I had a plug and patch removal and triple neurectomy by Dr. Goodyear a little over a year ago. I'm still in pain and take two doses of pain meds every day. I hate taking medication and suspect this is very bad for my overall health. I eat well, exercise, do acupuncture, etc. I can function but wonder if I'll ever really get better. I'm not that happy that Dr. Goodyear replaced the plug and patch with a dual layer system, even though I had requested only a single layer of mesh be used, but...
My pain specialist has had a hernia surgery redo (not removal -- just clearing of scar tissue), and it took him two years to achieve pain free status, which he has been for about 8 years now. Bottom line, it's a crap shoot with crummy odds...
And, by the way, I favor the public option...
All best,
Ph.D. in favor of health care reform and better hernia surgery...
I have been using the eliptical machine for a while, and I still have pain. I have pain in my left pelvic area, I am taking at least 4 pain pills a day and 300mg of lyrica. My hernia surgery was in Dec 07 then I had the mesh removed in April 09, and the pain has not changed.
