Sorry I missed you in Maine

Thank you for raising money for ALS research. My father, an avid
cyclist, canoeist, skier and hiker, died in March 2006 after living
four years with ALS. II live outside of Bangor Maine and wish I had
known you were coming through the area as I would have loved to cheer
you on and meet you. Each time I see someone riding a bike, I think
of my Dad. He loved riding and it was so hard for him to give it up.
He solo rode from CT to Florida and then from the top of New
Hampshire to CT before he was diagnosed with ALS.

I hope you are enjoying the beauty of Maine. Dad and I biked on
Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park when he came to visit.
Even with my daughter on an alley cat behind his bike he left me in
the dust going up the hills. It was hard to see his athletic body be
destroyed by ALS.

Keep Pedaling, and may the last mile be down hill!
