Dear Bob,
I was reading the June issue of the Jacksonville Magazine about you riding for a cure for cancer. I think it's a great thing to do for others that are fighting this terrible dieases, and knowing you beat cancer is great. You said before you turn 70 you wanted to do tour whole entire country. That was a dream for me as well because I had to deal with cancer myself. My family dealt with cancer for the last 12 years. In that span I lost my father in 2000 and I have lost my sister a year after he past away. MY Mom and my other sister beat cancer. I also work in a hospital and I come across patients that are battling cancer. Those patients in that hospital brighten my day when I make them smile. I did a couple of tours before but not as long as your tour. I do have a cannondale road course bike that is collecting dust, and it's a shame I don't ride it. Maybe I dream of the ultimate goal of doing a tour of the states to bring and end to cancer. I'm only 42 years of age, but I want to make a difference in people lifes.I donate money to the St. jude's hospital a month. Those kids are wonderful and very brave trying to fight for their lifes.Would you consider someone riding with you when tour the states. I still can't believe their person fulfilling a dream that I burn for, and wishing I could tour with you on the next mission. When the time comes let me know. God bless you Sir.
