jim, to my knowledge, the germans and the norse aren't the same, aside from both tending toward the pale and lots of consonants in their respective vocabularies. oh, and safe, tank-like automobiles. but i think we are talking about two different origins. that is to say, not many vikings came from bavaria. true, one could trace almost all european nationalities to the same core asiatic group, but the split is definitive enough among the norse and german peoples.
