the Irish language (cuz there is an actual "irish" language--they didn't always speak english, not until the english forced them to that is) has no actual words for 'yes' and 'no'. responses are given as a positve or negative.
example:
1)are you going to the store today?
2)i am not going.

something like that, anyways. any use of it today would be due to english influence.
