Okay....
I think I've been quiet while you'll been busy ripping Michael to shreds over this little disagreement here, and I think that I want to say some stuff.
All of your complaints so far have gone on the assumption of Mike playing favorites for bad players. None of you ever stopped to think that perhaps the players just planned something really well.
I highly resent the fact that you (with the exception of some) are implying that I needed Michael to CHEESE for me (and Jen and Jason) to get something done had been in the works for several games. I don't like that...I'm a very good role-player. I feel like that because of this I'm (and anyone involved in any plot that I perpetuate) being penalized for it. That's like saying that I shouldn't game to my full potential because you don't believe me. That's what you're telling me and anyone else involved with the subplot to kill Max.
You have to realize that Mike goes a lot harder on me than any one else in game because of people thinking stuff like this. I've already almost lost my Bastet to the wrym where most people would have been able to walk way relatively unscathed with their characters. And I won't bore you with what happened to Ardarella because of the stunt she pulled with the help killing Max. But none of you see any of that, not that you really ever would as players... you shouldn't have to. You shouldn't see him making sure that what's going on now matches with what Jim had, or to make sure that everyone gets a little piece of plot to play with. And yes, he does do all that. I know because we vie for time on the computer to get stuff for both of our games done. The reason that it always seems like I have the plot is because, when I get a little bit I run with it, rather than sitting on it (for example, I pulled Masato into the thing with Feyed w/o getting Mike telling or even suggesting me to-- I decided that taking Gary on, on my own would be fun!). And if this makes me need Mike to cheese, then perhaps you should take a look at your own role-plying abilities. Again not all of you need to do that, just some.
Disclaimer:
I'm writing all this stuff, not because I was asked to but rather because I felt that my abilities were being attacked. I know that people here will think that anyway, but hey I tried.
Thank you,
Marci
