AR is a way of using Virtual Reality technology to improve your senses, like a heads up display for a fighter pilot, except it tells you things about your surroundings, like you can look at somebody and their name pops up over their head. People will literally have their IQs tattooed on their foreheads! That would make the world so much easier to live in!
The really cool thing about it? It's been done since the 70s. The guy at wearcam.com has been wearing goggles (or helmets, depending on what generation of AR we're talking about) constantly since something like 1976, so it can be done with very old hardware, like the stuff found in junkyards sometimes. Look for this technology coming to a LARP near you, probably on your friendly neighborhood mad scientist.
