Response to OKAY THIS IS THE LAST!

First of all, Paul - I did not mean to "challenge" you to find something for you to do other than game on Sunday nights. What I meant was that, if you (or any other player, for that matter), was/is not having fun with the game, then the matter needs to be brought up with SOMEONE. We will, contrary to seemingly popular opinion, listen to you, and attempt to accomodate you. That said, I will not allow the game to change in a drastic and possibly destructive way to sate the desires of one player. (that previous sentence was not referencing the current situation - it is simply a caveat). What I meant, Paul, by saying that someone has to find something better to do on Sunday nights, is that, if we cannot accomodate you, then no hard feelings, but see ya. The game, and the rules for the game, have to be fair and balanced for all involved. Most importantly, the game has to be fun for as many people as possible. I know that not everyone has fun all the time - it's not possible. What is one player's cup of tea is another's poison. Some people are really into "getting into character" - delving into their alternate persona's quirks and idiosyncracies. Others like to beat stuff up. Still others are really keen on mysteries, and solving them. And some like bacon.

What I mean to say is, if you (the general you) don't tell me what you like and don't like, I will continue to put out the plot I think up. Look at my "position title", if you will....Storyteller. What does that mean? It means that I have a story to tell...a story that your characters have the starring roles in. But, no matter how much plot I sling at you, nothing can happen unless your characters react to it. And, if it is something you, the player, aren't interested in, then your character isn't going to react, either. Thus, boring time for everyone.

On another note - Paul, you say your position was nominal at best. I believe I listened to your input as best as I could...I apologize if my attention seemed less than undivided. The only thing I can remember saying I wanted was the two water elementals in the lake at the Caern...seemed perfectly logical to me, seeing as the Caern Totem is Unicorn, and in the Umbra, the Caern is an Umbral Glen. I would have been happy to include your Banes - had I ever actually seen them. I can't okay something I've never seen. And, as far as the okaying thing goes....the Storyteller of ANY game has that authority...it keeps the continuity and integrity of the game standard. If the entire staff knew everything that was going on in my head, there would be no surprises (besides, there would be no game, as the staff would largely be disgusted and revolted, I am sure). If you feel that I had a god complex, more power to you...I just have the job of "keeping it real", at least as far as the game goes. Any of the "dictator" postings/signings are meant in jest...sorry if they weren't taken that way.
