| That puts at Rachel:1, Jim:1, Chris:1
Now, on to the Respondent.
Chris; In answer to your point about Vampires being more powerful than mortals. 80% of all the deaths (not included those portrayed in VtDA) I have seen roleplayed in 10 years of WoD experience, the eventual winner of the conflict did so because of at least one of three reasons.
1) He had freinds who gangpiled and slew the opponent
2) He had guns
3) He had a trap set for the opponent.
None of these combat altering situations are supernaturally exclusive, and indeed, a gun in the hands of a mortal is JUST as effective as a gun in the hands of a vampire. The majority of Vampires do not have Celerity, in fact, as a general figure, only about 30% of all vampires actually have access to Celerity, and even then, the most damaging aspects of guns involve their using a full turn spray, which means the gun must be emptied into the target for a full combat round, disallowing the retargeting of the weapon and thus any celerity action which would endanger that. This means that a mortal using this tactic has the same lethality as a vampire.
As to Werewolves, the big bad balls of fuzz. Indeed, a werewolf in Crinos form is a battle beast of epic proportions, and with the added bonus of the delerium, the Garou can expect the normal mortal to run in fear of him, never remembering clearly his existence. But, Garou protect humans...they, through their Litany have a duty to protect Human beings and shephard them. A garou who turns against humans, is a Wyrmthing, and let's face it, Wyrmthings aren't Player Characters. As for Human interaction with Garou on an antagonist level? Real life fact, I worked at Scotia Range in the Pennsylvania Conservation Corp (we remodled the Ampitheatre Park in Harrisburg as a matter of fact) and I was going through training to be a Game Commission Officer. GCO's standard issue sidearm round is a hollowpoint silver bullet. Real Life fact. Now...see above argument for humans versus Garou.
As to the Angelics sitting back and heaving a sigh
WhiteWolf has said one thing is totally true about everything in the Storyteller System. There are no Good Guys. This means, if you accept the fact the Imbued are Angelics, you also accept the fact that the Choir are Bad Guys.
It also means you aren't entirely watching what's going on within the whole World of Darkness. In fairness to those who don't have access to the whole story from Edition One, and hasn't read the White Wolf Chronicles of Chicago, Giovanni, and Transylvania, and to Jim who may or may not want the LARPers to know 'the inside skinny'... What I will say is that Saulot, Cappadocious, and Augustus have MUCH to do with the Imbued.
(Iwould also like to note that my personal favorite ST System is still Werewolf, though I argue Vampire based arguments, it's because I ultimately realize that Vampire is the 1st and is the focus of the World of Darkness)
That said, I await other Respondents. | |
