Imbued are humans, given power by a force unknown to them, and they use it for some purpose generally determined by their Creed. They are, however, humans.
What you said, however, would be fine reasons to make them QUESTION the fact that they are human.

Even if the Vamps caused the Imbued to start happening... Vampires also started the Inquisition. Just because they began it doesn't mean they kept control.
