I have plenty of practical experience, and I know more than the basics of running a game. I have a ton of plot waiting, and I know the responsibilities the position levies. I would rather play, but I think this game might benefit from my experience. As for the narrators of specific genres, there are a lot that can be leveled to double duty.
What the game needs is open minded and knowledgable ST's and Narrators. If Bill, Steve and Richard sit down and work things out, each learning a fair bit about each other's area, they can create a 'web' of knowledge that will aptly serve the game. And as for Voting...that only works on issues that the ST's and Narrators CAN'T come to resolution on. The first step is always the judgement of the Narrator handling it, to be verified by Narrator of the Genre it falls under, to be melded into the Plot by the ST. If at any point on or more of these things become impossible then the collevtive Staff works on it (at the end of the night/between sessions if possible) and if even that proves to have no resolution satisfactory to the sake of the Staff and the Story, then the Troupe as a whole are given the chance to input on the direction of the situation. That happens in my experience maybe once a year, but that once a year cooperation of everyone in the troupe builds trust, understanding and the feeling that the whole troupe is in the Story together. | |
