You sound like me! I love to eat, so the only way I ever succeed at loosing weight is to increase my exercise ( I'm not a great dieter, but I am trying to cut out sweets and fats).
Any way, I use the digital scale at my gym. I check my bathroom scale, but it really isn't very accurate.
Would a gym be an option for you? I have found one with free daycare for up to 2 hours a day, so I figure the $29 bucks a month easily pays for itself (I have twins and a 6 year old). I also get to use the hot tub for free!
