| Regardless of what swing theory I performed, the driver was and has been a problem for me. However, I am becoming more consistent and hitting more fairways using S&T. However, there is always room for improvement.
My driver is a Callaway 454. I have read that the sweet spot is more on the top center of the club. I think that placement works well if you are hitting on an up swing. With S&T, I have heard that the path of the clubhead is more level at the point of contact with the ball and even perhaps even on a descending path?
Anyway, I decided to go sample some drivers on a simulator. The best driver that I consistently had good distance, ball flight, and accuracy was the Cleveland HiBore. My average was 13-15 degree flight, 135 plus mph ball speed with a distance of 240-255. What is more important wass that most drives were right down the pipe. I had a few hooks mainly due to an over active trail hand.
Apparently, the sweet spot is more in the middle of the clubface. Perhaps, this may have something to do with ball flight and distance?
I decided to look online and purchased the HiBore XL driver. They are going for about $139 new so the price is very reasonable.
BobKy, any thoughts?
