| Today, was the oddest game.
Looking forward to my game today. I went back swinging conventional this year after trying multiple different types of swings. I gave S&T about 8 months before I gave up on it. Going conventional felt like a great idea and I seemed to be doing so much better than I have for the past 7 years with all the different "odd" swing theories.
Well, I started off with 2 double bogeys, 3 bogeys, and one triple bogey. I just could not drive, hit my irons, chip, or putt. I thought "what the heck. I will switch back to Stack and Tilt to get thru this game. Can't be any worse than what I am doing." For the next 12 holes, I par-ed 10 of them. I ended up shooting a 87, which is close to my average score. I never hit that many pars in a stretch before.
My drives were good, and irons were absolutely on target. After getting on the green in regulation on the first hole going S&T, I thought "well, my putting has gone to crap. I might as well change that too." I started putting by just breaking my wrist. I have been goofing with this before but never on the course. I only 3 putted once for the 12 holes. And these greens are considered the toughest in the state; they are very slick. Putting by just breaking my wrists seems logical to me. Rather than moving your shoulder while everything else is still, I just break my wrist and kept everything still, especially my shoulders. Of course, I would get "eye rolls" from the short game experts.
Anyway, S&T worked great for me today. I honestly don't know what to do when I play again.
Stupid game.
