Denver: Thanks for your helpful answers on my prior stack and tilt
questions. I would like your advice on a drill I'm incorporating into
my practice. I know that the S&T material came from the Homer Kelley
material and his guiding principle was the flat left wrist (and
corresponding bent right one) at impact. I have a fairly weak left
hand grip (left thumb straight down shaft) but my shot pattern is a
draw. My misses primarily come when I flip and I pull it or over-
react to the flip and get my hands too far ahead of the club at impact
and block it right. My drill is simply to hit lots of short shots,
starting with chips, on to pitches, punches and eventually knock-down
drivers with that Hogan impact wrist position as intact as possible.
Seems to me if I can't master the impact position with the hands and
wrists working on a lot of other swing positions will be inconsistent
at best. I'm also going to spent at least several minutes each day
working with different clubs and an impact bag, again trying to imprint
that Hogan impact.Any ideas on the usefulness of this strategy, or
any drawbacks to it? I'm no expert on the golf swing, but it seems
to me that the biggest difference between the good player and the poor
is the quality of that wrists impact position. Thanks, blopar
