I appreciate your responses. Basically, I am gathering all the data up I found on the forum about S&T. I think I have found a common theme about drivers.

From what I have read, most folks love the S&T swing theory and their stated lower scores reflect this sentiment. However, some of these people have complained about hitting the driver. I suspect these few golfers are probably higher handicappers and their swing flaws are more pronounced with the big stick. Unfortunately, I fall into this category.

I carry a five wood and I hit very well with S&T off the deck. I could not understand why I could not hit my driver. But to be very honest with myself, I was never a good driver in the first place. I feel S&T hides swing flaws better than nore traditional swings. And for some of us, this why the driver gives us fits. Perhaps it is time for me to think more about scoring and less about distance and start using a three wood off the tee.

I do not own a three wood so I decided to go purchase the Callway X Hot. This fairway wood has been compared to something you would hit off the tee than in the fairway due to 44' shaft and size of the head,202cc. Thist is bigger than the original Big Bertha. I will play with this club for six (fall-winter-spring) months and compare my results with the five months of S&T and the driver. May the best club win.

Any response from anyone is great appreciated.
      Thanks

      JK
