How did your gardens fare in the freeze this week?

I covered everything but the rosemary and bishop's weed - but lost the beans and I'm not sure about the squash.  We got a couple of good bean meals out of them, though.  The squash is still producing flowers, but no fruit, and a lot of the leaves are frost-damaged.  But the peas are great and the lettuce, radish, onion and carrots seem fine too.  Of course the rosemary and thyme survive anything.

Not very well

I didn't cover anything. I stopped doing that a year or three ago. The rosemary and oregano are fine but the basil is dead and I pray my hibiscus(es? - hibisci?) can recover. My roses appear not to be affected. Looks like my hand me down spider plants are dead too. Maybe I can save one. I hate winter with a passion.

I have some variegated ones that I'm sure I could start for you if you need them.

I have some I planted in the ground when they had sprouted off my old dead ones. Thank you though!

Not Bad

I even see some new growth on what appears to be dead wood on some pepper plants. Never underestimate the power of a living thing to bounce back.

I don't believe in fooling around much in the garden (but I'm not growing many delicate veggies) until after what seems to be the last cold snap. We have lots of trees that drop a multitude of leaves and I leave that natural blanket alone until warmer weather.
