Several days after I filed a dispute with the credit card company, I finally received from DAK the tracking number for this shipment.
The rifle itself had indeed shipped June 30th, exactly as Derek said. However, it had been sitting in Customs since July 2nd. Once I had the tracking number I was able to make several calls and see what its status was. Thereafter (with the help of a very kind customs officer), ATF came to inspect it, and once it got the all-clear, it made its way safely to me, today.
That delay is in no way DAK's fault. The problem was, it took more than SIX WEEKS to get that tracking number from DAK. If they'd only given it to me sooner, I wouldn't have been upset with them, and I might have been able to get the Customs moving along a little sooner.
So, DAK gets a positive mark for price, and also for prompt shipping (it did ship the day I ordered it), but the communication is, as stated elsewhere by others, sorely lacking. |
