Went to 3 of my spots today where I normally find Greys with no luck, Still looked as though we need some mid 50's temps and rain at night with some early AM Sun to help those eastern banks! Not too far off, I did notice the fungi smell was not there yet so possibly after this week and weekend we can trudge the long haul!
Been on about 2 miles worth of hiking (so the GPS says) and still not a sign in my normal woods.. We need to have some electric rain tomorrow and then Thursday things should get better!
I hear of several people finding them but my spots look entirely too dry so they must have some early woods.. I am hoping we get thunderstorms on Sat so I can go out on Sunday and sleigh them!
Anyone else in the Upper Miami Valley (Troy,Piqua,Sidney,Anna) finding them?
Well cold spell hit, spotty spikes today, few greys, no photos as work took too much of my time today... We need more heat that is for sure but the cold will help the bugs and the undergrowth stay away.. Those 70 degree days had me thinking about getting the turkey net out!
