Turkey invasion

Here in West Virginia we find shrooms either in a tulip poplar grove or crab apple thicket; however, I've also found them under plum trees and occasionally under apple trees (old growth). My question is: Has anyone ever experienced watching a turkey actually eating morels? I've noticed in many of my favorite spots that if the ground is "scratched" from feeding turkeys that the shrooms are gone. Anyone else experience this? David

I don't think they eat them, but the scratching most likely disturbs the growth, I shot a turkey 2 weks ago and not to be gross but found no morels in its stomach, acorns, other seeds, and bugs.
