NW Illinois finds

found 8 pounds of them today on the Mississippi bluffs near Thomson IL
they are small to medium in size
mostly grey, some yellow
mostly on southwestern facing steep slopes (I could barely stand) with lots of dead leaf cover and rotting branches/trees on VERY damp soft earth
young umbrella plant and wild bluebell patches have been lucky areas to look so far
you must push aside the undergrowth with stick to find them
we had 3 adults and 4 children looking ...all the eyes helped!

Found 15 pounds today mostly yellow some greys 35 miles outside of Chicago
