I am still finding them in Kendall County, but they are looking old. No longer finding young ones. Everyone else concur?

We did really well in Dupage County yesterday and today, huge yellows and today 60 small yellow's for me and my buddy hit the huge yellows all seemed to be fresh, also today huge "half frees" or "dog peckers" about 50 of those. I do think it is just about done for here, and I'm most likely done till next year. Best year I've ever had, have quite a few bags in the freezer and actually was able to share some with friends, never thought that would happen !

A follow-up to the above posting:

There were many regions who reported "a record year" this year. Many shroomers in states and various regions of states that normally report average finds boasted a banner year. Interestingly, DuPage County area in Illinois was one particular region where emails to The Great Morel were all good.

Indiana, Ohio reports rated right up there with Illinois too.

Most suprisingly, states such as PA and VA (yes PA and Virginia) reported banner years too.

As we all well know, so much depends on Mother Nature's cooperation. Seems this year she cooperated very well through critical stages of the season for many morel hunters.

Reviews coming in to the northern Midwest states (IA, MI, MN, WI) have been mixed as of this posting. As it is year after year....the weather must be kind.
