Just wanted to let folks know that on 14 April I found my first morels of the season here in Eastern Europe, Kaunas, Lithuania. Virtually everyone in this country goes mushrooming in the fall (Boletus shrooms are highest prized) but few know about morels and I hope it stays that way!

Glad to know there are morel hunters in Lituva! I am in Virginia USA and my grandparents are Lithuanian from the Kaunas area.

I'm of lithuanian decent too, originally from Chicago and have been living in Kaunas since 1993. I'm just wondering as to whether I may have stumbled upon your grandparent's morel patch?!?!?
