st louis, mo -- first timer

25 3"-5" firm yellows in front yard! never been hunting, but now i must. wet soil, moss/grass mix, tree recently cut down, found in a 35 foot circle. Was 75 degrees and sunny yesterday after 3 days of overcast and 55 degrees-ish. never had a morel but i love shrooms, soaking in salt water as i type.

experienced shroom hunter buddy of mine nearly stroked out when i just called him and informed him of my haul. he said that the word is that people are finding patches like this all over in their yards. from what i can tell and have been told, if we have another set of sunny days that this find could be the rule and not the exception this season.
