What kind of mushroom is this?

It is a big white ball the size of one of those small basketballs. It is pretty dense and it is white and has a goldish membrane?

It sounds like a puffball, or that is what I've heard them called. My husband and I found a couple a few years ago. We were told if you know someone that knows how to cook them they are very good. I have never tried them though. Hope this helps

SOUNDS LIKE A PUFF BALL MUSHROOM, THOUGH PROBOBLY PAST PRIME. BEST WHEN ALL WHITE INSIDE AND OUT. I DON'T EAT THEM ONCE THEY START TURNING YELLOWISH.
